    Question :  How to decide between Hi-Def and Standard definition ?

When you buy a DVD in the store of your favorite movie, you are not viewing high-definition, because DVD's can't be high-definition.  The highest resolution on a DVD movie is SDTV (720x480 standard definition.) 
Any SDTV DVD can be viewed with an Upconvert Player to near HD, but it is not the same as 1080p Blu-ray.

We can shoot your event in Hi-Def because our cameras have the capability.  However, unless you take the digital image movie and produce it onto a Blu-ray disc, it will not show up as hi-def.  The only way you can view high-definition is on a Blu-ray disc with a Blu-ray player, or if it is broadcast over your HDTV or web. I say all this because Blu-ray production in High-Definition costs an extra $300.00.

So if you want your event on a DVD it will costs less.  Most people do not own a Blu-ray player - and you can't play High- definition in a DVD player, even if it up converts.  If you already have a Blu-ray player you are set up for both DVD and Blu-ray disc but it will not show DVD in 1080p.
